John Bodnar is licensed as an Employing Broker by the Colorado Real Estate Commission as well as the Arizona Department of Real Estate. As an employing broker and owner, of his own real estate company, he has had the pleasure of working with many of Arvada’s residents. He is a member of four Realtor® boards and has served on the Standards and Ethics committees for the North Metro Denver Realtor® Association as well as their Technology task force.
John Bodnar attended Ft. Lewis College in Durango pursuing a degree in Forestry with a minor in Business. John also attended CU, Boulder for his Real Estate education in 1991. John likes to say that education brought him to Colorado from New Mexico, the way of life and the mountains kept him here. His wife Sandi feels she had something to do with it too!
John Bodnar has been married to his wife Sandi Cardenas-Bodnar since 1991 and together they have raised three kids. Kira Engler (25), who married Kent Engler in 2004 and gave John and Sandi their 1st grandchild (Hopefully 1st of many) Dylan Christopher Engler (1). Kayla Bodnar (16) attending Pomona High School. John “Topher” Bodnar II (15) attending Pomona High School.
John Bodnar and family were early members of Risen Christ Lutheran Church, located at 72nd and Indiana. When the Bodnar’s joined Risen Christ there were less than a handful of families. During the early years, Risen Christ was a nomadic church. Long time Arvada residents will remember Risen Christ began at the little Church with the steeple just North of 72nd on Indiana, which is now Randall’s Photography. As a nomadic congregation, the church held services for a long time at the Circle Bingo Hall on 64th, just West of Oak. John was on the construction committee and the government liaison committee. John was instrumental in securing annexation for the current church location to the city of Arvada and testified on behalf of the church before the Arvada City Council at the final hearing.
John’s son was born with a genetic disorder, Fragile X. John and Sandi have worked very closely with State and Local services for the developmentally disabled, including Child Find, Jeffco schools as well as the National Fragile X society. Topher is attending Pomona High school, part time in the challenge program and the other half as a main streamed student in the regular classroom. John has worked with government agencies and the Jeffco schools fighting for least restrictive education for Topher.
